As others had said try before you buy. I find Shimano too narrow I have both the road and MTB versions of Specialized BG Sport and more than happy with them.
With the shimano do they correct sizes in relation to your normal footwear.....i am a size 9 so what would that be with specialized reason i ask is the ones i have saeen are online and cannot try them

I'm normally a size 43 but got a pair of Shimano MO86 Moutainbike shoes for a good price in a size 44....
For a good price from Ribble Bikes after trying a pair for size at my local Decathlon Store.....hope this is of some use.
As stated, I find Shimano, Diadora et'al all too narrow (don't take wide normal shoes??) but Spech BG stuff fits fine. As for size I go one up ie (44 to 45) for shoes and two up (44 to 46) for winter boots, an extra pair of sox and room to move.
