keep your bollox in place. stops having a little tight line on your tum.

This question has been asked before just check the links at the bottom of the page, one of them asked by me. I was a bit skeptical before I tried them but the biggest advantage I've seen is that the pad stays in the right place when you stand up and sit down.

OK - ta. I like the funky "similar threads" thing at the bottom. Never seen that on any other forum I've used.

I actually find when riding into a cold wind, my bib shorts are worth their weight in gold. and yes , they make you look thinner

Comfort for me, I wasn't sure and there are hardly any females bibs out there but once I tried them I haven't looked back.

I wear shorts. If the correct size is worn, there is no problem.
I have worn Bibshorts, and as far as I can see, they are sold to increase the manufacturer's profit.

I ditched bibshorts due to needing the lavvy (hidden hedgerow) during a 200km Audax on top of the Peak District. Far too much fiddling with removing jersey to get the bib down.

Ordinary shorts for me now.

I got some bibshorts recently and I've found them to be brilliant in this colder weather (although I have had a similar problem to Jimbo, not easy to extricate yourself quickly!). The extra coverage of my lower back was noticeable - before, no matter how high up I pulled my shorts, a gap would gradually appear between my top and my shorts letting the cold air in.

Bibshorts probably not necessary on warmer days, tho

I've had a flash of inspiration and a patent application on the drawing board.

1 pair Cycle shorts, 1 lycra vest top & 1 lightweight zip fastener :biggrin:

Hey presto, bib shorts that unzip round the middle
