What is the perfect bike set up?

Hi i am trying to find out what the perfect bike set up would be for me. i am 5ft 8 and have a 54" road bike.

Just wondered if anyone has any pictures or guides showing how to set your bike up to the best spec ie height seat position handlebar position and so on.

Any info gratefully received.

LBS where i recently purchased mine promised me a bike fit but the guy who did it has left. Frustrating as i don't think i am far off the mark and a little adjustment here and there would perfect it.
