I got my Allez 16 last september and and have kept it in good condition. I am 6'2" and got the 61cm frame. I now feel (after getting a TT bike) that the allez is perhaps a little too big for me (not enough knacker space when standing over the frame). I stripped the bike apart and cleaned up the frame to take pictures with a view to selling the frame on ebay but I dont want to list it incase it doesnt sell for enough to ebable me to buy a smaller frame. Does any body have any idea what a 61cm allez frame and carbon fork is likely to sell for on ebay (or any other site). It is a 2010 model in red.

Is it just the frame and fork and nothing else?

Last years model (full bike) from Evans was £499, I was looking at these myself before I decided on the Orbea, so for the frame and fork, I would say £150-200

Find out how much a new one would cost and halve that value. If the frame was a size in demand (standard size) you might get a bit more, but there will not be many very tall people (over 6'3") looking for a spec allez frame.

You should be able to recycle the forks onto a smaller frame.

You certainly wont get enough to cover the full cost of a replacement frame and forks.

I would think £150 max although if a bidding war starts you might get a little more.

Have you eyed up a need frameset? They are generally surprisingly expensive!

61cm frame isn't going to be a very popular size but as they are quite rare there could be a number of people out there looking for one - hard to say really.

Probably better off selling the bike as complete and buying another complete.
^+1 While there are no shortage of tinkerers who are not afraid to buy a frameset and build it up, there are many, many more peple who would baulk at the idea and who just want to buy a full bike.

If you want to maximise the money you get, (who doesn't?), build the bike back up, even buy some second hand bits if there is anything specific you want to keep, and advertise it as a full bike.

FYI, I recently sold an 80's Peugeot road frame on ebay. Completely different I know, but it was fully restored and converted for fixed gear use, and I sold it with a brand new headset, brand new BB and brand new seatpost, with the paintjob it was basically brand new. Got £100 for it, which considering the huge explosion of interest in fixed gear bikes I thought was dissapointing, but that's the way it goes.

Thanks for the replies, I think you are right, the frame I dont think would sell for enough to enable me to get as good a frame in a smaller size. I am now thinking about selling the bike as a whole. I can always use the TT bike for the period when I am without the road bike.
I will post on here how I get on.
