What is a United Commuter and where can i find parts?

Hi there peeps. My son came home from uni with a bike called a United Commuter but we are struggling to find any trace of them on the internet. Can anyone out there help us out?

Good question, there are many 'Raleigh Oxford bikes' and similar badged 'Oxford' bikes to be found in.... Oxford, so they're badged for a local market from a semi- mainstream supplier.... like this!

I'd be pretty certain that mainstream parts would fit.

He bought it from a charity shop in Loughborough.

What parts did you have in mind because such things as tubes ,tyres,break pads and other consumables can be picked up all over the place in halfords and suchlike.
If it's brake mechs then a bike shop that does repairs could probably suggest alternatives.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. It's really the back wheel i'm interested in. I'm not familiar with the gearing system. I think it's a 3 speed but the back wheel is buckled. Do i have to replace the whole thing, gears and all or just the wheel?

Any good bike shop will be able to rebuild the wheel around the existing hub by replacing the spokes and rim.
