How did you get the cat to pose as a model for Santa?
Only taking the mick, they are pretty good. Drawing's a fine way of relaxing....

I hate talented bastards! They just make me feel inadequate. So you can draw as well as play the guitar. That's impressive. If you did a few more like the first one you might be able to flog them to a Christmas card publisher.

Git.

Am I going daft? All I can see is a full stop.
BoaB has evidently realised the potential for copyright violation, and has removed the sketches pending their sale to a cartel of Christmas card manufacturers ;)!

I liked the pic when it was there (yesterday).

BTW BOAB, I'm off to your part of the world this afternoon to visit husband's brother for the post-Christmas familial thing. The trike and his bike are in the car so if you see a recumbent tricyclist around, it's probably me - say hello!

What do you think of them?

I think I need to learn how to draw people properly...I just sketch from my imagination...no models.....I hav enow idea about technique, structure or perspective drawing...well I do know what they are I just cant do them well.

I may get some coloured pencils and do a few cartoon pics...
or Christmas stuff because thats easy.

I took the pics down because I thought you'd all had a look and as one was drawn for my son I didnt really want to leave it on the net for eternity.

In this posh pencil set I have pencils I dont know what they are for...like a 'burnisher' pencil etc....I'll learn though...

...I thought it would be cool if I could do portraits or charachtures on bike tours...that would pay the camping fees!...only I am totally crap at those.;)

here they are agin for those who missed them (sorry)...I will remove them again soon though.

This one I drew under our tree for our son

This one I drew when drunk

This one I drew and messed with the sketch in photoshop to get the colour

Here's a character I drew for my sons book he is writing...

Don't start learning as what you do works in its own right therefore you genuinely have your own style. If you start absorbing "influences" there is a danger that your work will be watered down. That said, I suppose if there is some aspect of technique that you feel is lacking, you could get a book on it or go to evening classes or something.

I find it impossible to 'capture' a face...human or animal so that someone would recognise it....I can create a character no problem but to re create what I see is bloody difficult....I tried a couple of times and the subject were jus tinsulted that i thought they looked so ugly:biggrin:
