What have I bought?

At a cyclejumble at the weekend I bought a rear hub - Sachs Torpedo Automatic, 36 hole. I thought it was one of those wierd-as-anything two speed hub gears that change gear when you back pedal a little bit, and brake when you back pedal more, but now I'm not sure. I may have been thinking of a Duomatic.
So, anyone know what I've actually got? Mickle or Spandex, maybe? There's no box, no instructions. It does have a reaction arm, so I assume there's some sort of back-pedal brake going on...

Never heard of it, but if you're the kind of Dr who'd buy something like that, you're probably the kind of Dr who'd read something like this.

I read Sheldon's instructions before, quite good. I'm thinking of building a hub generator wheel, that's why.

I was also looking at hub gears like Shimano and Sachs, 'cause Rohloffs are loadsa money, so I'll be very interested to hear how you get on.
