Endamondo is what I'm using as strava was annoying my by closing a lot and missing out some sections of my ride. I am using Android and endamondo is working excellent so far

My OH has a windows phone he used to use map my ride but it wasn't all that reliable. We both have garmins now, saves the phone battery!

I recently bought a Garmin Edge 200, which works very well. I upload the results to Garmin Connect which is linked to Strava and those services give all the detail and analysis I want.

Without an i phone, I rely on MOPEMETER website, to log my routes before I set out. I can check the total ascent, check out where the big hills are, and check for reasonable detours if I want to extend or cut short my ride. I can log my routes, and keep a record of my weekly/monthly distance. works well for running and walking too.
Its a good alternative for anyone who isn't too keep on too much technical stuff, like me!

Used Endomondo for a year and it was excellent, it does real time tracking and works well. Problem with all phones is if you do a lot of miles. I now use a garmin 800 which is fantastic.

I've got this and it's very good.

it'll give voice turn by turn directions, give you verbal stats whilst on route, sort out a route to your chosen destination, upload to either Strava or Ride with GPS, and follow routes that you've loaded on via Strava /Ride with GPS. Plus sheds loads more

The only problem is it uses up the battery, and I'd rather save that battery life for the time I just might need to make a call

Agreeing with Ffoeg that it is better to save phone battery power for the phone. I use a nice little geo-tracker called the Holux 345. I have had it for years and have used it for skiing as well as walking and cycling. Pretty accurate and goes for days on its own battery. You can see a map of my ride from yesterday on the Bianchi thread in General Cycling Discussions.

Another +1 for runtastic, I've got the pro version and it's ace, I find the interface better than that of strava, more customisable especially for the active session.

Once I've uploaded stuff using the app, I then download the GPX files and upload to strava.

Mrs M has Runtastic on her Windows Phone (Lumia 620). Sports Tracker isn't bad too - I've used it from its Symbian incarnation.

Just be aware that not all have Strava's privacy zones, so be careful who can see the start and end points of your rides.
