There's an Elite here...£400...although you may find the 54.8 too big like the seller

You should always at least double your original budget, I ended up spending £1,000 on a bike when i was looking for something around £350...

I would want to see a lot more than one picture before i even thought about buying a bike.
Yeah, that's what I thought - but after a little nagging he did send me a few more pictures! I wish I could go and see it, but with him being in London that's a no go.

Anyway, I've told him something else has cropped up now!

Just something not quite right with the advert for the bike in the OP.. One photo, and that's of the rear derailleur; WTF!! As for the price; he's a chancer at £399. "Bike fully insured" isn't really relevant once you sell it either  (maybe he means guaranteed?).

I bought my Secteur Sport, new and from a main dealer in Glasgow (Dales) for £480. OK, it was the end of season sale. I reckon the Elite version for sale on here is a much better buy. Hope it's the right size for you. Excellent bikes for that price bracket BTW .

That's what I thought - hence posting on here! I did question the seller rather a lot, and he did seem willing to reply. Originally there wasn't any photos, but I kept asking for some and eventually he sent some. Not sure why he chose the rear derailleur as the picture for the ad though.. anyway, I'm going to give it a miss!

So... are you buying the Elite advertised on here then??

I hope so.. that's if someone doesn't offer them more! Also, if you look at the classifieds post, there are a lot of people who think it should fit him!

Toby, considering you were going to buy an inferior model for £400 from preloved-co.uk, offering the Elite seller £350 on here is a bit cheap really! If I were him and had followed your thread I'd have said "go swivel" lol.

I must admit, I do feel guilty! However, I have offered him more via PM (when I offered him £350 I wasn't really being serious, just testing my luck!). Also, I wasn't definitely going to buy the inferior model for £400, and when I realised that it could be purchased for that price (or less) elsewhere I realised I was offering too much.. I guess I'm still learning

As it stands though, my gut says to go for the elite and my wallet says "not for any more than £400"

I just hope I can get it! To be honest, I just want a bike so I can go out and cycle
