I saw this on our Classifieds section Yesterday. Looks quite nice to me - doesn't look "Brand new" as the seller says though. I probably would though ;)

CoG, I thought it looked good, if it was bigger I'd have bought it. Let me know if you ever want to get rid of the 61cm Sirrus Sport....Al

I can see a Reynolds 1986 transfer.

If it's a 1985 build, that transfer was added years after,,, why?
The seat tube transfer is prob the original. It was not done to put two transfers on a frame.

There are no triangular fork transfers. The seat tube transfer might say "Frame and forks" so this excuses Raleigh.

I suspect the forks are Hi-Ten.

It's a long frame and probably very comfortable to ride distances.

A nice bike to enter in a 'Concours' at a vintage bike rally.

I have one from the 80s Crock..it is a comfortable ride, partly due to the fork rake i assume.
Once stripped, i found the 531 frame almost as light as my new Bianchi.
The frame is 531, dont think the stays are, and the forks definately are'nt.

As Jimbo states, the frame is 'long', but the wierd thing is the wheelbase isnt that much different to my Bianchi. But i do feel stretched out on it...i've never measured it all out to compare, but it does look long.

Not my favourite bike based on looks, but it was brought as a winter hack...and mine was in considerably worse condition than that one.

Thanks McB.

That Raleigh should be snapped up straight away by me.

I wouldn't use it as a 'Hack', rather a summer Audax sunshine jolly.

But alas, I've got a Pug 531 PX10 with all the regalia for sunshine reminisances.

Yes, the answer is "Yes".

It's been posted. According to tracker it reached Manchester Piccadilly hub at 5.30pm. Will arrive on Wed. Just in time for the rain.

Do you want a hand taking all those nasty gears off ?
