for £32.99

They don't list the contents but it looks like it has a couple of cassette removal tools, chain removal tool and chain breaker thingy. I'm not sure whats in the top left and right corners? top right BB tool??

Is it worth it do you think?

Looks like the same kit Aldi/Lidl do when they have their bike bits sales. My mate bought one last time round, IIRC they were £25. Ok for the money, lot of stuff your unlikely to need/use, but some things that are invaluable, then again I doubt any of the tools in it would stand upto everyday use for long, but for the occasional DIY tinkerer, they're ok.

See I have lots of decent screw drivers, allen keys, and spanners. I will only be buying it for the bike specific bits really. If it wont stand up to sustained use then I guess its not worth it?

...

top right is a crank extractor, top left, cassette remover by the looks of it.

edit... i reckon it looks ok for the price. Just a hand full of those tools, even bought on a budget would soon add up to £32.

Might get one myself... I can never find the cassette, crank, BB extractor when i need it.

I have a very similar one. It has done me fine. The only downsides are the crank extractors are for a standard taper bb and I have upgraded to a Sram crank with external bb cups which needs a slightly different tool. Which I have had to buy. Also broke the chaintool so had to replace that as well, but I do like having a kit for the bike in a handy box.

I have the halfords kit , it has doen me proud and the only other thing i needed has been an adjustable spanner .....
looking at their site is has gone up so that kit looks good if its free p and p.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Notwithstanding economies of scale, there's a reason all those tools are the price they are.

If you already have good basic tools, then it makes even less sense to me. I've bought tools as and when I needed them so have a toolkit that contains only what I need and understand how to use.

Cheap tools are also more likely to wreck what you're working on (don't ask me how I know this).

You've had better luck than I have: it was Ice Toolz that I had in mind when I wrote the above. However, I would say that the more basic the tool, then the less need there is to buy top-end and vice versa.

I spent about £8 on a Park Tool chain wear checker and it's no more than pressed steel and worth half that; I spent about £12 on an Ice Toolz "de luxe" crank bolt remover and crank puller and it's shoddy, sloppy and worth half that.
