Likewise. My wife gave me a big hug when she heard the news. Was such a big part of my student days. There were others, but none of them seemed to have the same impact.

He’s someone I thought was already dead.
As a student in 90s going to gold was a staple of morning TV. But I assumed he was in his 60s back then. He must have been in his 40s.

Got to love Going For Gold - a quiz in English with questions about the UK.......for Europeans....who usually did better than the Brits!!

I miss the welcome segment where each contestant has to do some quirky wave to the camera. One guy had a lovely thumbs up and thumbs down on each hand. I use that to this day.
