what could be wrong with my bike computer

Yesterday we tested the Trek on top of hubby's estate car, having borrowed roof crossbars and using our existing skips. One mile down the road the bike fell sideways (ever so slightly denting the roof of the car  ) but the bike seemed undamaged.

However, today the bike computer doesn't work - the lights are on but nobody's home. In other words the wee display unit is fired up and functioning, but it is not recording anything from the wireless bit on the wheels. I have tried moving them about a bit, but to no avail.

Given it was working before the slump on the roof, I am blaming the bump, but have no idea what to do to fix it.

As the bike fell it probably knocked the sensor on the forks, I would think that is the most likely explanation scotmitchy as I've done that quite a few times myself.

Thank god the bike's okay!

You can usually hear the switch in the sensor clicking as the magnet goes past - at least I can in all mine - so that may indicate whether it's aligned sufficiently and okay.

[Don't know if there are any bike computers out there which don't have a mechanical switch in the sensor?]

You haven't knocked the wheel out of true leaving the sensor that extra mm away ?
Merely idle speculation mind.

There is sometimes a little green led on the fork senser, which will flash when the magnet passes it, so if you have a little led on the senser then just spin the wheel to see if it flashes. my handle bar bracket also has a little led which also flashes if it receiving a single from the fork senser, so easy to trace a fault.

I fiddled with the sensors an pushed them as close together as they could get without touching, and it is now fine.
