What colour is this?

Hello All,

I have just picked this up for the bargain price of £10. It needs a bit of work though. Can anyone help me identify what the paint is and if there is an RAL code for a match?

I think the only way you’ll find a match is to take maybe the chain guard to a paint specialist who has a spectrometer. Might be pricey for a ten quid bike.

Raleigh never used RAL colours as they had all their own colour codes starting CF. CF1 was black for example.

Nail varnish counter in Super drug probably easiest.

I paid £10 for it, doesn't mean it's worth it. I can get a can of colour matched spray paint made up for no more than £10 so that's a good idea thanks. I'm looking to tidy it up, give it a service and sell it on.

Those are both shades of brown, this is a lilac/violet sort of colour.

Bike looks like a Chiltern so will be a metallic lilac colour. Mauve was a bit darker.

That's exactly what it is. It's such a shame that no one out there seems to list the colours and has them available to order. Looks like when the paint counters are open again I'll be taking the chain guard down to get it matched.

It will be an outdated colour and not available from stock, I think our Hilman Hunter was strawberry white lol.

All Raleigh did was little touch up bottles code RMM 116 for the little bottle. God knows how I remembered that code from the 70's...
