What cables for campag ergo levers?

Just bought some campag centaur ergo power carbon levers 2009 from eBay. However I am not sure which cables that I need for these levers.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

The official kit is this

As I see it the only advantage is that the cable is pre-lubricated - I use this stuff which shifts as well as I need.

2009 Centaur would be Ultrashift ( I think ).
So these would be the full set (brake and gear, inners, outers and all the ferrules you need) - I hope.

Don't buy the cables off e-bay... I got caught that way trying to save a couple of £.

If you have the Ultrashift as Pete says you will need the Campagnolo cables - as I understand it the US system requires well lubricated cabling to work 100% and I don't think cheap cable is the way to go.

Use Campag cables only.

Campag cable nipples are slightly smaller than Shimano, so if you fit Shimano or Shimano compatible cables you can have a fair bit of trouble getting them out again.

Yup - if its the ultrashift/powershift style levers - where the top of the hoods lean inwards - make sure you get ultrashift/powershift cables - as gear cable outers for the earlier ergos were a bit bigger. These 'mk3' cables and levers were originally all called ultrashift until powershift was an option. So if you find cable sets for either, they should work.

Also, there were some issues with the early 2009 levers that caused shifting issues - the fixing kit for it may be hard to find now. I thought I'd mention this as it'll be a goo time to check with the levers off of the bar. To check, look in the back of the ergos (through the clamp area) and see if the disc is white or black (you want black). See this
