Currently looking for a road bike to get around town get to and from an allotment and get fitter,what would you suggest?,i'm currently looking at a viking route 66 vn353

I think the reason nobody has replied yet is you haven't really given us enough information about you, your budget, riding style, preferences, etc to make any kind of informed recommendations...

What stuff do you need to take to/from allotment etc, some sort of tourer or utlity bike might be better than a roadbike if needing to carry stuff in panniers and what not

well with the allotment i will have things in a shed down there and stored so i don't have to drag it back and forth only food and a stove for making a cuppa.The bike is to get me there and back and about I don't drive or anytghing i hate buses

With your budget I would be looking at a decent 2nd hand bike rather than a cheap new one. It would be better made to start with and easier to replace bits that wear out or upgrade if you get the bug. Where are you based? @biggs682 might have something for you.

@Blisser71 i have a few bikes at the moment ranging from a cheap single speeder right up to a full carbon Bmc and a few retro steel rides so give me some clues re size and location and lets see what is what
