After going off on black ice a couple of weeks back, I've just been doing the normal commute, hoping the thumb would heal enough to sustain a longer weekend ride.
Last weekend was out as it thumb was still giving me a lot of pain. It also took a turn for the worse as I slipped and fell done the steps to the car / cycle park at work and landed on aforementioned sore thumb.
I couldn't resist getting out this morning, there was a slight breeze, the sun was out, it wasn't raining, 32 miles done and back home for 10am. I'm off work next week, so no commute, but I'll be out to rack up some more miles.
The only annoying thing to happen today was being overtaken by a couple of roadies in the last mile of my ride, and them informing me i should try harder. It was said in good humour, and I had no breath left to utter the witty response that formed in my head
