2,500 quid for a bike with 3rd tier Campag? You must be having a laugh. My Chas Roberts with complete Record cost 1200 quid in 1991. Add inflation at 3% per year and you're at about twice that now. The (real) price of most things has come down in that time - so what is the point of this bike?

Beautiful bike...an article in the most recent copy of Cycling active explains the inspiration behind this revival. Is a bit pricy though

3rd tier? 4th actually (Chorus, Record, Super Record all above Athena). But they all have carbon components, so wouldn't look as good on that frame.

What a triumph for the marketing men. Standard road geometry, tubeset usually associated with touring bikes, very plain lugs, mid range carbon fork, mid range groupset and components, the modern wheels look misplaced on a retro frame... But it's a limited edition and it's a HOLDSWORTH!!!

If you like the retro thing, for a similar price you could have something made to measure that was better in every respect, from the likes of Bob Jackson. A limited edition of one.

tubing is Reynolds 725 cromo according to the spec sheet. Would have expected 853 at the very least at that price, if not 953 stainless. Nice colour though.
As contrast, I have a Yates in 853, completely made to measure with Camapg Chorus throughout bar the front wheel which is a Mavic Helium. Cost £1,420 in 2002.
