Hey guys!

Hope everyone is safe in these times. I happened to have a Customised 90's Dancelli bike that I'd like to sell. I don't have a lot of info about the market prices or where to sell my products, so if you can help me that would be awesome!

Thanks,

A very nice bike. Can't see the frame tube sticker. What tubing is it? What is the groupset, hubs etc?
The small frame size will count against it I'm afraid. See if you can see one similar on eBay for a a guide price.
You could always advertise it to the enthusiasts on here of course.

Aelle, if that is what it is, is at the lower end of Columbus tube hierarchy. I had a Colnago frame in Aelle and it was quite heavy. Don’t think it was butted. Can’t see a sticker unless it’s the one at the top of the seat tube.

Pics of the chainset and derailleur would help but from what is there the components look to be mid range. The bike is in very nice condition which of course is very important.

It's a nice looking thing in good shape. Bike prices are up at the moment for everyday steeds due to increased demand and lack of supply, but this hasn't translated to the more niche stuff when values have suffered slightly. I'd give a ballpark 200-300 sheets range, but like the boys say above some more information would help to give a more accurate assessment.

a nice bike like that I'd be inclined to just ride it. Quite a lot.

Tubing; it's on the sticker below the saddle with 'Columbus' or similar. The name underneath would help.
Groupset; the brand name / model on the front and rear derailleur, cranks
Hubs; the brand name/model on the centre of the wheel

Currently I'd suggest, given the wheels/brakes models, it's a very pretty but mid-low end frame and components. Like @Drago has suggested £200-300 in the current climate, £150-ish when the current bike-buying rush has stopped.

Only thought Aelle because I have a Dancelli which originally had a similar colour scheme:
522165

Now looks like this:
522166

It is a lovely ride - feels fast and responsive if that makes sense.

There are some differences between our bikes though - yours doesn't seem to have the pantographed forks (which seem to feature on most of the Dancelli bike photo's that I have seen on internet) or the "D" engraved on rear stay:
522167 522169

I have seen it mentioned on the web that some Dancelli frames may have been made by Colnago. Although I have also seen it mentioned that it is very difficult to ascribe a manufacturer to bike frames in Italy because there are so many bike builders there.

As Ernesto Colnago was very impressed by Michelle Dancelli's win of the Milano Sanremo he adopted the ace of clubs logo
https://www.colnago.com/en/news-en/lasso-di-fiori-nasce-a-sanremo-nel-1970/

I think that @Drago is probably about right in his assessment though - not a lot of monetary value, so just enjoy it:smile:

edit - "Ahrer", possibly an Austrian bike shop? I think that would tie in with Dancelli selling quite a few bikes in Germany. It could be worthwhile expanding your eBay search to Europe, they do come up quite often (I have spent a fair amount of time trying to find out about Dancelli bikes )

Hey guys!

Thank you so much for your quick replies, you´ve helped me a lot!

After some proper research and some work on it I´ve come up with a list of the bike details:

  • Dancelli 1984
  • Shimano 105 groupset
  • Campagnolo Master Cranks groupset
  • Columbus Aelle tubing
  • 54 Top Tube, 55 Seat Tube, 12 Head Tube.
  • 7 speed Indexed Shifting
  • 3T Ciclying (Tecno Tubo Torino) Stem
  • Con-Tec DMND 2k Handlebar Tape
  • Selle Italia Mundialita Saddle
  • Elite Ambrosio 19 extra Rims
  • Ofmega Master Hubset Hubs

I have 3 questions for you if you´re so kind to help me again.

1. Considering the full description of the bike details, should I still consider selling it around 200/300 euros, or more?
2. I´ve found a few Dancellis on the Internet that are price way higher than the appraisals you all mentioned. Do you think they´re too expensive? ( I attach here some images bellow)
3. And last one. If choosing a seller that is not local, what is the best way to ship a bicycle nowadays?

I hope it´s not too much at the same time. Thanks again for your help, and I´m looking forward to hear from you again.
Carlos
