Wet wipes again.

I have yellow and black patterned handlebar tape. Over time the tape had become very soiled, not helped by riding after getting hands greasy. My wife suggested using wet wipes on the tape and I poo pood the idea. This morning when she wasn't looking I tried it. I now have bar tape as clean as the day I fitted it.

I now have to let her know she was correct!

I know (suspect) you're kidding but in all seriousness it's that kind of thing that cheers people up no end. Even phrase it in a 'I was wrong' kind of a way.... 'Do you know what you said about x? Well, you were right"

You'll probably also feel good for saying it. Win-win!

Of course, she may not ever let you forget it but that's a risk you take

Love wet wipes...had never bothered cleaning the chain on my old bikes and then heard of using wipes...now clean it at least twice a week and definitely feeling the benefit! Also great for general muck...I'm a Huggies man by the way... the others don't quite cut the mustard!

Do you pull them on before or after using the wet wipes

Continue to use the wet wipes. If she notices, and points it out, claim it as your own idea, and say you have no recollection of her suggesting it. This is the way to marital harmony. For her own part, she will allow you to think that it's your idea, but know it is hers. Everybody's happy.

Also very handy to wipe the handy pandys after a puncture/mechanical adjustment!
