Wet weather tires for road bikes?

What is a good wet weather tire? i seem to find my self aquaplaning everywhere at the moment and before i invest in a pair of tires i thought i would absorb some of the wealth of knowledge on the forums.

You cannot aquaplane on a bicycle tyre. Reduced grip only.

^^ this, and only a reduction in grip in the wet when over painted lines, metalworks etc. Normal road tyres in the wet are fine.

I was recommended by my cycle club boss to get some scwable lungano/ blizzard sports .

Tried them last week and TBH they are grippier but found them heavier going than the tyres i had on , its a balance.
