Leaving work in about 30mins. Peeing it down outside, I have nothing waterproof and my steed of choice was the road bike today.

Quite looking forward to it. Take it nice and easy, no sprinting and perhaps mumble a few songs along the way (usually a line or two from a particular tune gets stuck in my head and goes rouuuund and round).

Could be worse, could be on the tube with a bunch of dripping brollies ;-)

Leaving in 2 hours...should be fun!

There is something fundamentally miserable about riding out in the rain ...

There is something fundamentally wonderful about riding home in the rain, knowing that when you get home, you can take off all the wet gear and dry out in comfort. :becool:

Exactly the same for me. Except Im in Hitchin and have to commute 10miles south (into the wind).

I'm not looking forward to it but I know I'll soon forget about the discomfort and enjoy the ride

That was a lot of fun. Got wet feet though, didn't detract from the enjoyment but need to dry shoes by tomorrow

It was hissing it down when I should have left work just before 5 in Manchester land, but because our auditors are rubbish at reconciliation, I didn't leave till gone 6. Just damp then.

Well don't I feel silly (and dry).

haha funny that, i looked outside before i left the office and it was peeing it down, went down to the basement to get the bike, rolled it outside and no rain.

Annoyingly i turned down a night in the pub because i didn't have a coat or umbrella to get home dry in my suit

it was just starting as I set off early at.3.45 and got going fuull on soon after, all good although the roads started to flood a bit in places so pothole and drain avoidance got a bit harder and too many people pulling out from side roads seem to forget how to look when it's raining

like Gaz. Looked outside and it was peeing down. Left work at 5.30 and it had stopped. Very wet roads though.

Had to go for a meeting in the west end at 5.00. took Thunderbird 3 (the office scooter)...got totally...totally soaked. parked the bike, locked it...rain stopped.

arrived at the meeting 10 minutes later and stood dripping on their reception floor when the receptionist asked "is it raining out then?"

may have to post this in that thread about dumb questions.

Last night was really just preparation for this morning obviously!!! Still quite enjoyed it though, I must be mad. Hardly any other cyclists around though!!
