Excellent news. If you hear any more on the subject keep us posted. I'd like to know where the blue plaque is going to be , so I could go and have a look next time I am down in that neck of the woods

Unfortunately his trainer, Choppy Warburton, had a bit of a reputation for.....er...having a different aproach to other leading trainers at that time:wacko:

No evidence that Linton took anything that anyone else wasn't taking, but some of what he MIGHT have been taking would certainly be classed as performance enhancing nowadays

Barnet,
That's a name to conjure with, you don't get coaches these days with the name of Choppy Warburton.

I have the reason why he got the name somewhere - I'll try and dig it out.

If, instead of making Chariots of Fire featuring the legendary Sam Mussabini, they'd have made a film featuring Choppy Warburton it would have been a very different film!

Probably more like the film about the Kray brothers.

Well you could bet your life Choppy would have had no truck with all these fancy power meters and heart rate monitors. "Go out and get the miles in lad, turbo's are for girlies".
