Well I don't know what Welsh cakes are but I certainly wouldn't knock 'em till I've tried 'em.
I had a couple of jam filled scones and a large mug of coffee after my ride today and I still have the taste in my mouth. Lovely.

What is a welsh cake?

Like a currant scone, but much thinner and cooked on a griddle. Then you butter the top and eat them.:biggrin:

Imagine a scone about 1 cm high and you're pretty much there.

Thank the Lord for Welsh cakes!

I've seen the light!

My mother, bless her, makes two sorts of Welsh cake. One sort with currants, the other sort plain but split in half with jam in the middle. Needless to say they don't last long when I visit! :blush:

Oooh, welshcakes. Dribble....:blush::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue:

No need for butter though. The best I ever had were from a health food shop in Westbourne (which is part of Bournemouth). They were sold from a plate on the counter and were homemade. God they were good...:tongue:
