Wellgo MG1 servicing. Purple grease ok?

I have a container of purple grease.

Is this stuff suitable to grease the core of the pedal or should I get something else?

I use it to grease the thread when putting on the pedal but not sure if it's suitable for actually greasing during a service.

Aren't you meant to grease the thread before putting a new pedal on?

To stop them bonding to the crank and making it easier for removal next time.

Copaslip is the ideal product for this, not sure what the purple stuff is. Google the name on the tin for applications?
