Email from a mate I go cycling with .Do you think he is trying to tell me something but is too polite?

"I knew it,I could see it coming, you've gone gaga! You did'nt bang your head last week on that charity cycle ride
did you?

Have you seen the elevation on this ride?

They don't even get sheep up there!

I'm exhausted just looking at the map!

Yours

Knackered before I start"

It look like great circuit, minus the 2 mountains in the middle, although the last 10+ miles you'll role as its a deserved down hill

Done the ride today but with a different start point at Treorchy. First 5 miles was a serious climb up the bwlch Mountain road. Then the big climb over the Rhigos was near the end of the ride which wasnt really clever planning :-).

Really enjoyed it 44 miles 4000 ft of climbing .Main thing I hadnt expected was how blinkin cold it would be up there. I had 2 shirts a jumper and windproof on on the descents plus full finger gloves. There was still frost on the grass at 1100 .

Would like to do it again but not tommorow.

Never under estimate how cold it can be in the hills!! xx( It can easily catch you out.

I should know better but years of getting fat and lazy must have lulled me into a false sense of security.

fortunately something in the dark recesses of m,y brain said chuck a few extra clothes in the panniers, also had waterproofs spare food etc. I dont take anything for granted.

I can vouch for that having frostbite like syptoms from the weekend ride, was bloomin freezing. Shall be wearing proper socks and overshoes on unless it's freakily sunny/dry.
