Do manufacturers have weight limits for production bikes? I am losing weight but at 19 stone should I worry? Am I to heavy for a Triban 3 for example?
Sorry if this is a daftie, but I can't find any answers on here or online.

im a little tea pot
they may do however i havent had a problem, started cycling at 18 1/2 stone on a hybrid, 17 stone when i got my allez but gb155 has more experiance than i given his tremendous weight loss! all i find is avoid potholes, no bunny hopping up/down kerbs and avoiding cars generally keeps a bike together!

oh I do that already, cheers. The plan is a triban 3 or equivalent next spring or A treat for reaching 17 stone! Which ever comes sooner.

But in the meantime I will keep pushing on this;

Although they generally all do have weight limits I guess there has to be a certain level of margin built in. I've been riding a Trek hybrid (on 1.125" tyres at 120 psi) for five years with my weight peaking at 110kg and the worst I've had is a broken spoke. As Kiwiavenger says, the most important point I think is just treat it well - avoid potholes and no smashing up kerbs at 30 kph. :smile:
