wanted to go for a nice long ride for a couple of hours, but after 20 mins or so my legs went really weak, i had no strength at all. Had to return home, even then i had to go into lower/little gears and even did a walk of shame up one LITTLE hill.
I have been doing bout an hour at least ever other day and last time i was out was thursday for an hour, havent done any long rides for about 2 weeks although i did walk dogs for longer this morning, could that have caused it?

Could be anything from lack of sleep, time of the month, to general tiredness or food intake.

Have a day or two off

If you've not ridden for a while it can be just loss of condition in the cycling muscles and keeping going albeit slowly and easily is best. If it is over doing it in the last week, take a day off. Easy enough to decide which applies.

Happens sometimes. If you don't have to ride for transport, take time off, your energy will come back.

if you see 2 hrs as a long ride, and you have been typically doing 1 hr rides, it sounds to me like your fitness level is at an early developing stage. just take 2 days off and come back fighting. every other day may be too much for you just yet.

I can have weak legs at certain stages of a ride, but it doesn't last long, I just work through it,then find my legs and this can happen 2 to 3 times on a 30 miler.
Sometimes I feel like turning back but luckily I haven't yet.
My mind set is yes you can turn back every now and then but don't make a habit of it.
