WD 40

I came across this http://www.rei.com/product/864564/wd-40-bike-bike-frame-polishprotectant-8-ozwhen searching for something else. There was a thread recently about WD 40 that I wanted to add this to but I couldn't find it.
'WD40 frame polish' is a product used on motor cycles I believe so you might find it in a m/c shop rather than a bike shop, it is an aerosol so can't come from the States.

FWIW I wipe my frame over with GT85 which brings it up a treat.

I use an old copy of the Racing Post and sump oil !!

After a summer wash & clean up, I have been known to spray Pledge and apply it with a duster. It did a good job and the frame did seem to shrug off dirt for longer.

That'll be the silicone in it. I put furniture polish on my curtain poles...they glide better

Yes. I keep silicone away from wooden furniture, prefer beeswax, but on the bike it seems to do a great job.

I read somewhere that the writer uses it as joint embrocation .I suppose it helps repel rain drop from the skin.
