I'm putting this in Cafe, as I never think to look in Ride, and it's a bit speculative anyway...

I've thought about it before, but never got round to it: the Thames Bridges ride in aid of the Stroke Association. I have a few friends and family who've been affected by strokes, so it seems pertinent. And it seems like a good way to ride in London, and I like bridges.

http://www.stroke.org.uk/fundraising/fundraising_events/the_thames_bridges_1.html

I've got myself put on the email information list this time. No idea how much it costs to enter, or if there's a minimum amount to raise or anything (I'm always a bit wary of those, I don't like to be too pushy about fundraising). Anyway, if I was to do it, any London (or elsewhere) forummers fancy it as well? And (more cheeky) who could offer me a floor to sleep on, so I don't have to try and do York-London-(33 miles ride)-York, in one day...

You are always welcome at tdr1nka towers Arch, plus I'm not 15 mins from Tower Bridge which is the first bridge to the East.;)

Beware, that might be a deal!

I don't know for sure that I'll do it, depends how much it costs etc. I'll keep you informed....

What a lot of ridiculous upmanship, tdr1nka, I'm not 15 mins from Tower Bridge either.
More like an hour and a half:biggrin:

You'd probably be 15 mins from Tower Bridge, by Concorde. If she was still flying. Oh and she wasn't allowed to go supersonic over land was she....

By Tornado jet then.

Uh oh! mickle is abducting aliens again!

BTW I'm sure I once heard that in the time it would take to drive from London to Brighton, Concorde could cover the same distance 13 times, if it were able to fly supersonic over land.

I'm "only" 15 mins from Hampton Court Bridge which, err, is the finishing line! So it would be all back-to-front! ;)

Aha! A plan forms... (no, it's ok, I won't impose myself...)

I might do this ride. I'm suituated 5 mins ride from Battersea and Albert bridges.

Arch - there is a mouse (according to my flat mate) in our flat and the squeeky character was last seen in out living room! If you're not off-put feel free to consider this option too. of course it's likely the rodent visitor will be long gone by May :headshake:
