Hi all,
I suffer with watery eyes whilst out cycling. I also need to wear glasses. Can anybody recommend any eyewear or over goggles that might help with this problem?

Cheers & best wishes

A pair of Bolle style safety glasses will do as a minimum. They're wrap around, sturdy, relatively cheap and you can get them almost anywhere. I used to suffer too so glasses were a neccessity reallt

Fortunately for me I don't need my glasses whilst cycling, but I do have very watery eyes. I tried wraparound shades but they didn't do anything to alleviate the drips. They just got in the way when I needed to dry my eyes so I quickly gave up on that idea.

I did mention my drippy eye problem to my optician when having an eye test, she booked me an appointment with an optometrist so i went to that and the optometrist immediately asked if I had rosacea (evident by my red blotchy face). I said I had and was prescribed an antibiotic. Within days the rosacea had cleared up and my eyes stopped dripping. It was a miracle! Of course one can only take antibiotics for so long but my eyes and skin were good for a couple of years afterwards.

I have had flare ups with blepharitis I the past. I think I'm going to use some eye drops to help with the dry eyes too add in some better glasses too and that will help

I also suffer with Blepharitis which causes my right eye to flood most of the time. My optician recommended Hycosan Extra drops and Blephaclean wipes. Together they work really well :okay:

Even with decent glasses (Oakley Flak 2.0 with prescription lenses from Extreme Eyewear in my case) the cold air can still get behind the lens and cause watery eyes. I have to be careful about looking down for the first couple of miles in case water drips from my eyes onto the inner of the lens.

I was using something called blephagel a while back, so I've started using it again to see if it helps. I'll have a look at the hycosan drops too👍

It's a nightmare, especially this tome of year. Roll on spring👍
