After this weekends soggy Friday night ride to the Coast, I realise that I need to get a waterproof saddlebag.

I was considering the Topeak aero wedge saddlebag but I'm unsure of it's weather proofing.

Doesn't need to be huge but it does need to be of a similar size to the large aero wedge.

Any suggestions?

I put my stuff into a plastic bag and then put it into the saddle bag. Not perfect, but the saddle bag does tend to get blasted by water if you do not have a rear guard.

That's the bag I have Luke... and it's not waterproof. I put stuff in plastic bags first then into the pack.

I've got the smaller version of the Topeak Aero Wedge and its fairly weather proof and does the job, being under the saddle probably helps and I use it on a bike with guards but it the same as all saddlebags of that type I've had its not 100% waterproof. If you wanted something more waterproof you could try Ortlieb or IIRC Altura and other companies do something similar cheaper.

I've got that Topeak and it is not waterproof. I don't know if there are any or why nobody has made one. As someone else suggested, get a plastic seal-up bag and put your stuff in that.

I have an Ortlieb saddle bag, one with a roll closure, which keeps its contents 100% dry in the most torrential downpours.

I've seen a couple of those in use but only the large one, I see they do smaller ones as well. May have a look at one of those for the longer rides.
