I have just got a pair of cage holders for my water bottles but they dont fit properly with bottles in.
If I put a bottle in the upright holder all is well but then I put a bottle in the slanted holder the bottle collides with the other so its not seated properly.
I have adjusted the cages to full extent but still the bottles collide it seems the two bolt holes should be about an inch more along the forward slanted post.
So I'm looking for bottle cages that have a lot of adjustment or perhaps another cage holder somewhere else on the bike?

Got any ideas.
PS.. A bit of a bad design by Cannondale, are the road bikes the same?

You can get holders that go on the seat post

Or try smaller bottles? e.g. 500ml

500ml is about all you can get on the upright and its a medium frame which is odd.
Just been looking at the seat post type and that could be a option.

I have the same issue on my road bike. However, the lack of space is sufficiently small and my cage sufficiently tight that it turns out not to be a problem that the downtube bottle isn't fully seated.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
It is a problem because there is so little space within the frame as it is very compact - has a steeply sloping top tube. Had a similar problem myself on my 44cm (actual) road frame. I now use side (entry) cages, but it is a question of trial and error as some makes will still present the same problem. I have found the BBB ones OK, (but alloy and scratch bottles) and Giant Sidecars OK (prefer, very light, but plastic, and not very durable), I am using Premier ones at the moment, they have a bit of an overlap. Lots of others available. I can carry 2 750ml bottles if required, and use them on the move.

PS. Mine is a medium frame.
