Wassit worth?

A mate of mine is considering a second hand Genesis Day 03, like this: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/road/product/day-03-07-20455

The ad says it has some cosmetic marking but otherwise great condition and just service (pics back that up).

Any idea what a fair price would be for it?

The bloke at my LBS says half new value, minus £10 per year for most secondhand bikes.

Do check for damage though! That's a very lightweight bike you have there, not something that was designed to last a long time.

Baah after just one ride he probably hasn't set it up properly, get him to take it out a few more times, adjust the saddle height, position etc then make his mind up!

Not being funny, right tyres, right set up..most bikes aren't far off road bike performance.....

I rode my MTB for commuting for 2 years...sorted the tyres etc.. was quick enough to dispatch road bikes at the time...it's now back doing muddy stuff now I have a fixed road bike....
