WARNING gore cable system

This is intended for people wishing to replace the Brake cables on a mechanical disc brake system on a cyclocross bike.

The GORE PROFESSIONAL ROAD BIKE BRAKE SYSTEM (which I was instructed to buy) does not fit a cyclocross bike, the inner cable is too short to reach the rear Mechanical brake by about four inches (I was instructed it would fit before buying) £40 down the drain

So remember folks, it's the PROFESSIONAL ROAD BIKE BRAKE SYSTEM which does not fit. You need to buy the Gore Ride-on Extra long

As far as I know, if you asked if it would fit your bike, and it turns out not to when they said it would, you have a right to claim it's 'unfit for purpose' under the sale of goods act.

Well I have to praise Evans online here, I rang them up explaining what happened I.E under the advice of one of their sales staff that the Professional road braking system would fit, so bought said item, I was instructed that Evans would ring me back.

Well Evans are sending me a replacement (Longer brake version as above) free of charge and an apology for the misguided information, plus I get to keep my original purchase (since I'd already cut the outer cable to length) which I can use on the Specialized.

Well pleased with this result
