How do you warm up when you go for a ride? I never warm up before the ride but I give myself 3 miles of easy riding on a fairly flat road before I do anything more strenuous. What about you?

Commute is downhill for first mile so the RMP on the fixed helps. Commute home starts on some right crappy road surfaces, but the mile is enough.

Training rides - well I'm usually going up hill, so first half mile steady then I've got a climb.

I don;t warm of for rides. However I do take it a little easy for the first couple of miles. Get the legs and muscles warmed up.

first half mile is usually reasonably slow, then i crank it into the next gear and push. helps that i have to ride on paths to get to the road for the first few hundred yards. i take it easy just in case of pedestrians and leaves etc.

I always warm up before every ride. I stretch every part of the body and get my legs in the mood by taking extra big steps (which makes me look a little weird in the house). It warms my body up nicely and I dont feel stiff at all.

I find that the first 10 mins/5 miles are quite easy as I am just getting in the mood. I do eventually loose strength and slow down a bit but with the group rides (40 miles) everyone keeps together and last Tuesday we played a little game in the last 5 miles. There is a hill near us called Engine Hill. We were going down it and we all agreed to speed up a little (after we regrouped) and have a race to the bottom of the hill. I was at the front of the bunch but couldnt get any more areodynamic. I ended up coming 4th out of about 20 riders but that was with a little headstart.
