I went to see this show last night. It was truly excellent, and I recommend anybody who can get a ticket to go and see it. To refer to the horses on stage as "puppets" seemed utterly inappropriate by the end of the evening.

It will be moving from the National Theatre to the New London Theatre in Drury Lane fairly soon. Which means that you will be able to see it - I think every NT performance is sold out.

And if you can't get to London, there's always this.

Is the book any good does anyone know? How suitable would either the show or the book be for children given it is an adaptation?

The show is captivating, but too long (in my judgement) at two and a half hours for any child under the age of about 12, unless perhaps they had read the book (I haven't) or worked on the historical period or on puppetry at school.
