Without knowing what bike and components you have I can't answer that but if you have 9 speed Shimano Sora components with drop bar STI shifters then you should be OK. The left hand lever is for a triple chainset but will work with a double if that's what you have on your bike.
I can post a picture of the shifters if that helps.
