Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
This was my first ever cycling event in 2011 and it was really well organised. So much so that I did it again in 2013 with my then 9 year-old.

Dare I say it was better than most 'commercial' ones I've done since. I'd recommend it. The route takes you south of Wakefield into some nice quiet lanes.

Entry fee: £12 if you enter online before 29 Sept, £15 on the day. Children are £3.

From 2013's post:
However, I'm probably doing this years - but it's likely to be the 12-mile distance with my 9yo on his road bike. That's unless I can twist his arm for the 26-mile one

His arm was duly twisted ... and he successfully completed the 26-mile route.

So we're back - with the team name "Yes, you've been passed by a 10 year-old" ^_^

We could be doing the Season of the Mists / Mellow Fruitfulness audax, but he's happier with this tbh as there's other kids taking part.

Doesn't look that bad

There again, it's the (Seacroft Wheelers) Cyclo-Cross at Temple Newsam the same day, & I want to go & watch that

A (running) club-mate has pointed out to me that I still have a CX bike hanging up in the garage..................
