That's like comparing Champagne to Lambrini mate. Fortezzas are the best tyres I've ever used; Gatorkins are the worst. The grip they give on fast descents is confidence inspiring. Take a look at the reviews on roadbikereview.com if you need any more convincing.

I'd agree with that, though it depends on whether we're talking about Fortezza Tricomps or the plain old Fortezza. The Tricomps are the best tyres I've used by a long way but I'm guessing the plain ones might not be so good.

A definite thumbs up for the Fortezza Tricomps as well - fantastic tyres! Having previously used Gatorskins I was impressed by how much better they were.

Fortezza Tricomps are the mut's nuts.

I use Michelin Pro-race in 25s for audax and winter training which are superb, but I always feel I can notice an improvement when I switch over to Tricomps.

But they get that grip by being quite soft. If I start with them new at training camp in March, there is only canvas left by late September, even switching them end for end in May.

Thanks for the feedback, I am not a serious rider I just bought a road bike last year to keep fit and know nothing about the tyres. they are the plain old Fortezza as Kyuss mentioned so I am guessing they are still better than Gatorskins.
