With half the pro-peloton in Oman, the other half is in Portugal. There was a great performance by Gilbert on the first day to take the lead, but now on the third day, and the biggest stage, it wasn't any of the big name climbers who took the stage, but Britain's Steven Cummings. Pretty awesome performance, one of the best of his career so far. And he's now in the overall lead too...

Yes, I'm really pleased for Steve Cummings. He looked good at the Giro and then seemed to fade away, from my eyeline at least, last year.

Beating Dirty Bertie into the bargain. See how human he is when he's racing clean

As you were in the GC today so can Steve C hold off Bert over a 17km ITT tomorrow with just a 6 second lead?

He's not the worst TTer in the peloton.

A good performance for Steve Cummings and nice to get a win over Contador but let's be fair Contador has not had the best of preparation for this season so far with the drug thing hanging over him. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FM is right, Contadoper will best Cummings in the TT. The GC will probably go to one of those currently placed 2-4 (AC, Martin, van Garderen). It will be a travesty if the dirty Spaniard wins...he shouldn't be in the peloton.

Tony Martin took the TT and the GC.

Another win for HTC after Goss and Renshaw already this year.
