I've used Virttoria Rubino tyres for years now (700x25) but it appears most of the big online retailers have stopped selling them, or are they discontinued? Only seem to find the Zaffiros on Wiggle now.

What would be a good alternative, I've always found the Rubino's fine in wet weather and suffered very few punctures. On top of that they were only £10ish. I also use Gatorskins but find them awful in the wet for some reason so trust my Rubinos much more.

Not sure where you've been looking, but Rubinos are widely available, all over the internet.

They have wire beads. My old Rubinos have folding beads.

Sorry, my old Rubino SLICKS have folding beads! :okay:

I mentioned on another tyre thread that I found the new version seemed to have reduced traction. I get more wheel slip up steep, wet hills than I did with the old version. Maybe it's a one off. Hope so
The older Rubino's where never great for steep, wet hills either I found. In fact that thinking a bout the tyres a little more. The G+ versions do have a slightly harsher ride.
