The early ones are meant to have suffered with fork failures , but the later mk 3 forks are fine .

A lot of were swapped under warranty for steel forks if i remember rightly , i love riding mine

I think the fact that virtually all aluminium frame bikes have a non-alloy fork tells us all we need to know about the suitability of aluminium as a fork material! A few all-alloy racing frames have been produced of course, but in competition lightness takes priority over longevity and bikes aren't expected to last decades.
