Virtual Trainers

The ones where you plug your turbo into your PC/laptop and virtually cycle around / race / do intervals etc.

Are they any good, and could you recommend some please?

I own a tacx fortius for several years now and i love it.

Not as good as riding in the real world (obviously) and not enough of an improvement over spinning on a regular turbo trainer to make it easy to justify the additional cost.

And you'll need a bloody great tv or preferably a projector to use with it or you might as will just put a recorded stage of the TDF on TV while you're spinning....

I think Seamab has something of this ilk (he lives in a very ice/snow-prone area

) and always seems to be (hill)-fighting fit at the start of each season
