A real 'barn find'.
An original Sun Sapphire bought in 1960. It's been hung up at the back of a garage since 1964. The bike is as it was when bought. Everything on the bike is original, wheels, tyres, crankset, dérailleurs, changers. It even has the pump and Coloral water bottle that were supplied at the time. The paintwork on the frame is in excellent condition but it does have a few chips and marks from general use back in the 1960's.
After all this time the rubber bits have perished as you might expect and I imagine to get it working again a strip down and re-lube would be essential but I think with little more than good clean and lube, and some new tyres etc it would be a working classic.
The receipt from the original purchase is still with the bike. ( Jordan's of Hull.17th December 1960. £24.13s.3d with a discount of £2. 9s. 3d making the purchase price of £22. 4s. 0d)
I'll post the photos I have of the bike and I know there are some more so when I get them I'll add them as well.
It isn't me who is selling but I am posting on behalf of a mate. I understand he is looking for around £250.
