I think you are right, I only ever remember them being traded as frames

Guy I have purchased it from had Shimano Arabesque 600 on it but stripped it.
I have some ideas for it.
Got some Gian Robert shifters and derailleurs or I have some Golden Arrow parts.
Not sure yet. May have some 600 bits somewhere.

I've got a full 531ST touring frame with exactly the same style seatstay chamfering at the seat tube junction as the frame in @PHL67's picture. It belongs to an Ian May, but it's not an in-house build as it doesn't have an IMC serial number. That's been making me wonder who did actually build it. Looks like a well put together frame though, whatever it's provenance.
