Hi All,
Can anyone help and give me some advice and info on my vintage Dawes bike. It was my grandfathers and not being a bike expert in any way, I know little about it other than it’s a red feather, beautiful bike. No idea of the age!? It’s a little rusted in the surface but I had new brakes and tyres out on about 10 years ago. Seat and everything else is original.

I no longer use it so it sadly sits in the garage. Considering selling to a good home!? However battling with the thought!

Welcome to the forum. That looks a lovely bike. I see that the brake levers have been changed at some point, and as for the frame, a little cosmetic TLC would bring it up looking good.. I would say that the bike comes from the 60's, or early 70's although there are more knowledgeable people here who can give a more definitive answer.

That's very nice, and I particularly like the snazzy bar-tape!

If it does have sentimental value, are there any cyclists in the family who may be interested?

Hello and welcome to CC.

I think these were produced from the early sixties, mainly for the yoof market.

Looks like it will need a bit of work to bring it up tho scratch. Not really sought after model and a small frame size but worth about £50.
Brookes saddle if in good condition would be worth more than the rest of the bike.
After a few more posts you can offer it on here.

Good luck with it.
