vintage claud butler 1950's I beleive

Hi, have got an old Claud Butler, approx 50s, it has got Nervex 51deg 84deg D222E38 and 5355 stamped on base, has anyone got any information on it. age etc.

Have a looksee at Retrobike forum. Google is your friend. They have a section devoted to CB frames. What they don't know isn't worth knowing.

thanks for responses, I knew it 50s or earlier, it was my brothers bike before I paid £5.00 for it in 1974, he is 10 years older so would have been purchased in early 50s, it has been sat in shed for years since last use, still has original saddle albeit very ragged, brakes are original, handlebars original, will organise up loading some photos when I can

The D222E38 relates to the bottom bracket model number.
Is there a 3 digit number, which would make it pre 1950, when Claus Butler was bought out.
