When I saw this thread I thought it was about Bordeaux, Barolo, Rioja, etc., most disappointing to find out it's about a blond bloke who has an Olympic gold. Never was there so little applause for a winner than on that day in The Mall.:ohmy:

You were there. I think you were there the next day as well.

It is a tragedy. This really does point at the ineptitude of those who form the rules and regulations. Are they really that lacking in intelligence, that they cannot construct a framework to keep people like Vino and Riis out of the sport ?

In the crowd only on Saturday, Not that close to the line but the quiet when Vino went up had a lot of people round me asking why so little crowd support. Very difficult to explain except to say he had been a bad lad and was very unpopular with fans and riders.
Sunday it rained so around the pub at Box Hill, such fun!
Then 100 miles to get home (still wet, but in a nice warm car).
It all seems so long ago.
2014 Tour stages should be worth a look though!
