Hi Guys/Girls,
on my bike the brakes and gears seem slightly to far award from me. I was wondering if it is a feasible idea, to fit a shorter stem? I was think about installing a 60 mm stem as oppose to the current 100/110 stem.

What do you think? Is there anything else I can try?

Thank you.

Before you spend anything, try spinning the bars back towards you a bit. Then try flipping the stem over to raise them a bit if that hasn't helped. Also have a look at your saddle position

A shorter stem may well be what's needed, but you might as well try all the free stuff first

Decrease the distance you have to bend over, thus reducing that elongated feeling you have

Last question: When you say spin the bars back towards you, does that mean the top of the breaks will come towards you or further away.

I realise these are really daft questions, but I am just making sure.

Towards: I've done exactly that, being a small person, it worked.
